On the Indian chart an E cup means a bust four to five inches bigger than the band number, and an F means five to six. Both are ordinary proportions that the chart names and most Indian shelves do not carry, which is a fact about stocking rather than about bodies.

What do E and F mean on an Indian chart?
The band is your underbust rounded up to an even number plus four inches, and each cup letter is one more inch of difference between bust and band. The scale runs A to F: E covers a difference of four to five inches (10 to 13 cm) and F covers five to six (13 to 15 cm). Some labels print DD for the step after D; the Indian chart does not use it, and goes straight from D to E.
UK and US charts push the letters higher still: an Indian E sits at UK FF and an Indian F at UK G, both on a band four numbers smaller. The bra size converter shows the working.

None of these bodies is rare. The sizes are rare on shelves.
Why can't you find E and F in Indian shops?
Walk most Indian lingerie aisles and the cup letters stop at D. The chart does not stop there; production does. So an E or F wearer is usually offered a D with the right band and too little cup, and the spill gets blamed on the wearer rather than on the rail. Put plainly: a 34E is a 29 to 30 inch underbust with a 38 to 39 inch bust, an unremarkable adult body that the industry simply does not manufacture for.
The sister size route from E to a stocked D
A sister size moves the band one step and the letter one step the opposite way, keeping cup volume roughly constant. For an E, the band-up sister is a D, and for most of the range that lands on a stocked size:
The limit is band tension. The sister's band is one step looser, and at these cup sizes the band carries most of the weight, so the swap works best if your correct band already ran tight. If your E band fits exactly right, its D sister will grip less than you need.
F cups do not get the same exit. An F's band-up sister is an E: a 34F's, for instance, is 36E (unstocked), so the route out leads to another size India does not make. At F, band fit and honest expectations do the work sisters cannot. The full mechanics are in bra sister sizes.
