Most shapewear quietly assumes there's a bra's worth of coverage above it. This doesn't. The straps detach, and a silicone grip lining holds the bodysuit in place without them, so the same piece works under a high-neck kurta on Monday and a backless dress on Saturday.

Getting the size right

• S–M: 26 to 32 inch waist
• L: 33 to 38 inch waist
• XL: 39 to 44 inch waist

Size to your waist measurement rather than your dress size. A shaper a size too small doesn't shape more: it creates a ridge at the edge, which is the exact thing you put it on to avoid.

Wearing it strapless

The grip lining needs clean, dry skin to do its job, so skip lotion and body oil where the edge sits: the same rule as any silicone or adhesive product. Take the straps off before you dress rather than after.

Shades

Black and Beige. Match it to your skin under pale or fine fabric and to the garment under dark or heavy fabric: whichever layer is thinner is the one that gives it away.

What it doesn't do
